Friends - The Complete Eighth Season

This weekend was awesome!  I was prepared for it to be boring since my two best friends are in Europe but I had a blast.  I was going to go home on Saturday but when I got out of class on Friday, I just couldn't take writing all night so I went home.  I hung out a lot with other friends that I don't get to see as often.  I saw X-Men 3 on Saturday night and Mission Impossible 3 on Sunday night (both good movies).  I did some shopping also yesterday and found some cute skirts and a dish set for next year.  Today was the best though.  I went over to the Bush's house (where I practically live on the weekends) and there were a bunch of people over.  We all went out on the boat and had a great relaxing day!  Now, I'm so ready for summer though and the last thing I want to do is sit through one more week of class.  Oh well, I better get to my work...16-20 pages in essays due tomorrow!  Yay world civ II!

Oh, I almost forgot...my sister hit my car on Saturday morning - not even two weeks after my car got merged into by some European guy!!  She hit it with my mom's car backing out of the garage for her first job interview.  It's not too bad, but seriously - bad luck with accidents lately!!

Choosing the Good: Christian Ethics in a Complex World

Hello all of my old friends!  Ok, I know that I really stink at xanga now...facebook has successfully taken over all of my free Internet time!  But, I decided that I'm long overdue for an update.  Who knows, maybe I'll start writing on this thing again since summer is coming.  So...what's new with me?  Tons of stuff, but if I write too much no one will read it so I'll try to be concise...

I've finished my junior year here at Trinity and am now a senior!  I've also finished my first year in the bioethics master's program (which is amazing-by the way!).  Next year I'll graduate with both degrees.  I'm going to start applying to PhD programs (in bioethics) this fall.  I'm thinking that God may be leading me to that, so I'll apply and see for sure.

God is so very amazing!!!  He has taught me so many new things this year and blessed me over and over.  There's no other like Him - that just had to be said!

Lisa and Justine (my two best friends) left for Europe today!  It's a trip through Moody where Lisa goes.  I couldn't go because I'm here at school for May term.  I'm taking World Civ II for 3 hours every day for 3 weeks.  It's not as bad as I imagined but it's no trip to Europe either!  You can probably guess where I'd rather be!

Ok, well, I shouldn't overkill it.  Baby steps coming back to xanga...  Everyone better write me seeing as how I haven't posted since October!  Leave me some love!

God is so very very amazing!!  I just love Him so much!!!  These aren't new revelations to me but they are pressing even harder on my heart over the last couple of weeks.  He has used so many things going on and tied them all in to show me more of who He wants me to be.  New Orleans was an awesome trip and it really opened my eyes to a lot of things.  The thing that was really inspiring to see in everyone down there though was their deep rooted trust in the Lord's faithfulness and goodness...here's a picture of our group and one such woman I was blessed with serving...

This weekend I went to the YAM (young adult ministry) retreat in Lake Geneva with my church (Harvest - Rolling Meadows).  I can't even begin to tell you all how many ways God blessed me through going to this retreat.  I had a lot of fun, made a lot of friends from church, but best of all, was really challenged in some areas.  Coupled with the New Orleans trip last week, God has really been impressing upon me to trust Him with EVERYTHING!  Not just most things - but giving it ALL to Him!  I realized there were some areas that I was really just looking to myself or others to fulfill rather than simply giving it to the all powerful and all sufficient God of the universe

For two years now I've felt that I was ready for a relationship, but I see now why God has whispered, "...just wait..."  Before I could enter into a godly relationship, I must realize that God is all that I need, that my identity is in Him, that my future is rooted only in Him...and then everything and everyone else will fall into place!  Pray that God will convict you of areas to grow in, and be faithful that He will answer your prayer.  It may be a tough climb, but when you're through it the view is amazing!!

*Disclaimer* This is a lengthy post but I hardly ever update and there's some important stuff here...so just read it!

Ok guys- I'm sorry that xanga has taken the cut in my busy hectic life right now.  I'm forcing myself to update this though because some cool things are going on.  Well, my classes are going well.  I have a lot of work for them but it's good that I'm being pushed.  Biochemistry is really challenging me!!  Last week I had three exams and three quizes.  That was a bit excessive, but this week I only have one major exam.  It's tomorrow in World Civ and it's all essay though!  I'm finally finishing up my bioethics stuff from this  summer.  I have one more paper to finish for my master's credits.  Only 707 words to go!!  The end is in sight.  That'll be one less thing to worry about!

Very cool things...I'm leaving next wednesday night (oct 12) for New Orleans!  The school is taking a disaster relief team down there and we're getting back on Monday morning.  I'm praying that we'll be able to help ease the load there, but more importantly be able to show the love of Christ by going and having servant attitudes.  Pray that awesome things happen next week!  Another awesome thing...I got accepted last night to go to India over Christmas break.  I'll be there Dec. 30-Jan. 14.  I'll post more information as it comes about the trip.

Last, but not least on my heart is something many of you already know.  Youngstown closed its doors for good on Sunday night.  This is really sad because I loved that restaurant and really care for all of the people still there.  I worked there for 2 years and learned so much about management and people in general.  I've had lots of good times there that won't ever be forgotten.  I really pray for all of the employees who lost their jobs suddenly.  Some of them are single parents and are going to be hurting by this.  Most of all I pray for Brent and Denise (the owners) because they are going to be hit really hard by this.  I don't know what they are going to do, but they are wonderful Christian people and I know that God will provide a way for them.  Please keep them in your prayers.  Thank you.

Please let me know how you are all doing!!  I don't have the time anymore to read my subscriptions and I know I suck at updating this, but I'll be sure to read what you guys comment me!  I pray that you're all doing well and growing in Christ daily!!  Much love!
